Summer Camps: Frequently Asked Questions
#1 What kind of equipment do I need?
- Tennis racquet (we have junior racquets for sale, and we have a few to try out if your child is unsure about what type of racquet to get... or if they are still uncertain if tennis is the sport for them)
- Non-marking soled shoes
- Bug spray
- Liquids (there is also a vending machine and water fountain in the clubhouse)
- Hat (that sun can get pretty brilliant)
#2 What happens if it is raining?
If it is raining, the classes are cancelled for the day. The courts are very slippery when wet, and we want everyone to have a safe surface. If it starts to rain once camp has started, the coach will do some 'indoor training' in the clubhouse.
#3 Does my child have to be a member?
No, they do not have to be a member to participate in the summer camps (They do have to be a member to attend the spring lessons)
#4 What if we are planning on going up to the lake in the middle of the summer?
Since each weekly camp is a session on its own, and there are varying levels, the camps do not have to be taken in series. Your child can easily attend a week or two in early July and then attend later in August. Repetition is the key to learning anything, and there are varying skill levels throughout the entire summer.
